Annapurna Pariwar is a group of 7 Non-Profit Organizations established for the empowermwent of poor women and their families.
Who are Annapurna's members?
Poor women living in slums having a very low per capita household income.
Commitment to Members :
Annapurna is client focused and offers financial and non-financial services designed to enhance their well-being and these services are delivered in a manner that is ethical, dignified, transparent, equitable and cost effective.
Members' Protection :
1. Highest standards of professionalism based on honesty, equality and dedication to serve the poor are ensured.
2. Annapurna provides members with complete and accurate information and educates them about the terms of financial services offered such as interest rates, processing fees, insurance details, pension and other policies and procedures in a manner that is completely understandable by them.
3. Annapurna provides financial literacy to all members.
4. Annapurna distributes dividend to members who are also its shareholders whenever there is profit thus promoting a sense of ownership amongst the members.
5. In providing microfinance services including lending and collection of dues, Annapurna is committed to fair practices by not imposing hidden costs, not resorting to coercive methods for recovery loans.
6. Annapurna safeguards the personal information of its members.
7. Annapurna inducts two elected Community Representatives (CRs) on its Board to ensure representation of diverse sections of the Community.
8. Annapurna involves the member and her family in all its social programs like micro insurance, micro pension, savings, opening of Savings Bank Accounts with nationalized bank so as to bring them into the mainstream of society.
Creation of Social Benefits
Annapurna's financial and social interventions aim at:
1. Reduction in incidence of anti-social businesses by not giving loans for such purposes.
2. Maintenance of communal harmony and secular outlook of community.
3. Elimination of gender discrimination with a change in the conservative mindset of clients and their families.
4. Improving health status of the clients' community and their surroundings.
5. Providing a safe childhood to the children of the clients.
6. Encouraging young children of the clients to continue with education through educational sponsorships.
