Slum children are almost always left unattended when parents are at work or are looked after by their eldest sibling mostly a girl. These children miss out on their childhood as a result of poverty. Poverty deprives them of the capabilities needed to survive, develop and thrive.
Poverty prevents them from enjoying many opportunities. They are exposed to various risks like sexual abuse, fights and riots or pick up wrong habits and grow up to be bad citizens of the civil society.
Annapurna Pariwar has been working for the empowerment of slum women since last 3 decades. Early childhood development interventions for slum children has thus become the focus of Annapurna Pariwar.
Under Vatsalyapurna Program, Annapurna runs Day Care centers for looking after the children of poor working couples / single mothers. The parents can work longer, harder and earn a better living to secure a better future for their children, if the children are safe while they are away at work.
The Day Care Centers are run under Vatsalyapurna, which is registered as Vatsalyapurna Swayamrojgar Seva Cooperative Society under the umbrella of Annapurna Pariwar group. We already run 12 Day Care Centers in Pune and Mumbai slums. We need support for expansion in Mumbai.
For Corporates : Corporates wishing to support a social project under the Corporate Social Responsibility can support one/two/five/ten Day Care Centers in any particular area under "Adopt-A-Day Care Center"
Individual Donors : Individual Donors wishing to support this program may select one/five/ten children or one Day Care Center as per their budget and wish.

All donors can get a report quarterly/ half yearly or annually as they wish .
They can get list of children in the DCC supported by them with photographs.
We can arrange for the sponsors to visit the centers.
They can get Balance sheets of Annapurna Mahila Mandal and Vatsalyapurna Co-op society every year.
They get Income Tax rebate under 80 G.
