If the total annual interest income exceeds ₹4,00,000, TDS shall be deducted mandatorily, and the net interest (after TDS) will be credited to the member's Bank account or transfered to saving accounts with Annapurna. If, at the time of maturity or renewal of a fixed deposit, TDS was not deducted, and subsequently, due to the new/renewed deposit, the total interest amount in the relevant financial year exceeds the applicable limit, then the applicable TDS will be deducted from the interest on the subsequent renewed deposit. If a fixed deposit is withdrawn before maturity and TDS has already been deducted on the interest of that deposit, the deducted TDS will not be refunded by the Society. The concerned depositor should file their income tax return personally and, if eligible, claim the refund.
