Franchisee Scheme
-
The Franchisee Program was started in 2006.
The smaller MFIs, co op credit societies are taken up as franchisee partners of Annapurna Mahila Co Op Credit Society.
Most of these franchisee partners are operating in semi – urban or rural areas.
Annapurna Mahila Co op Credit Society lends to these partners, who lend to SHGs / individual borrowers who are mostly engaged in agricultural / allied activities.
The Franchisee Partners follow the rural SHG Model of delivery as against Annapurna’s JLG and Center model.

Areas where Franchisee Program is working :
Beed : This is situated in the Marathwada region in Maharashtra. This is a drought prone area, where 60 % population migrates as sugarcane cutters for 8 months during the year.
Ichalkaranji : This is situated near the Karnataka border. Once upon a time this city used to have a lot of handloom, powerloom industry and co op societies. Today they no longer exist.
Maval : This place lies in between Mumbai and Pune. Most of the SHG members are women doing farm-based activities.
